深茂鐵路（深圳－茂名）東起深圳北站，途經(jīng)東莞、廣州（南沙）、中山、江門、陽(yáng)江、茂名、鰲頭，終于茂名東站，全長(zhǎng)390.1公里，客運(yùn)時(shí)速250公里/小時(shí)，初期每天運(yùn)行車次95對(duì)，貨運(yùn)120公里，是客貨共線。開平站，即開平市火車站，位于廣東省開平市三埠街道燕山村，上行方向與臺(tái)山站相鄰，下行方向與恩平站相鄰。恩平站即位于恩平市東成鎮(zhèn)境內(nèi)，距離恩平市區(qū)約6公里。恩平站為線側(cè)平式站房，建筑面積6000平方米，旅客流線為下進(jìn)下出。車站為2臺(tái)5線設(shè)計(jì)，側(cè)式站臺(tái)1個(gè)，島式站臺(tái)1個(gè)，正線2條，到發(fā)線3條。
